Starting to work up some ideas. Got E.J. Hughes and W.P. Weston on my mind a lot right now. These drawings are derivative of these guys – flattening of space, simplification of shapes, more concision in the drawing. Kinda cool, I was going through my morgue (reference files), and found a bunch of Weston’s sketches of the same area I’m working in (Whycliff Park, Lighthouse Park) form the 30’s, and 40’s. A strange sensation to have been sketching in or close to places where Weston was way back then.
